one fine Saturday

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

Pict0006 "The Art and Technology of making Monsters: ANIMATRONICS" .. Pict0008 sounds interesting? yup.. i went to Australian Museum last Saturday to have a look.. playing a little bit of tourist there.. too bad they dont allow cameras inside the exhibition..

if you wonder what it is about, recall all the movies with monsters, aliens, talking animals, warewolves, king kong, apes from george of the jungle, peter pan’s alligator, and even mechanical men like inspector gadget.. they show them all how to build them from scratch to finish. from paper sketches, to casting n moulding (like in engineering workshop), to fiber glass skin, to clay model, to mechanical structure, the motors involved to move the limbs, a bit like robotics, and finally the skin painting and hair punching. interesting rite? even movie recording were demonstrated.. everything from start to endPict0042_1

Pict0028 after spending as much time as i could in the animatronics  section, i moved to Wildlife Photographer of the Year Section.  these are some of the winning photographs.

Places, animals, captured at their most memorable Pict0034and candid moments..

then i ventured the other spaces of the museum,  Pict0031

other spaces showed skeletons of ancient animals, biodiversity, aboriginals (people who originally lives in australia) and other things museum have..

when midday came, i went out and walked to the art gallery at the other end of the road.

in the middle, there was the Mary Anne’s Cathedral.. there was a weddingPict0122 ceremony going on. people can actually come inside to visit the cathedral, but only on sundays. with my headscarf on, and with me being alone, i dont think i would enter the building.

i had my lunch at the park beside the art gallery, and, with satisfied tummy, played tourist again.. :) i spent a few hours roaming around.. trying to understand the difficult art, and enjoyed the more understandable ones..

The unread Message

Tuesday, February 21st, 2006

Aku mencapai kembali penaku. Astaghfirullah..mudahnya tumpuanku beralih.!! Kuteruskan semula kerja-kerjaku. “Study! Study!”, hati ini berkata lagi.

Lima

minit kemudian, fokusku tercapah lagi.

“Selamat Pagi! Moga Tuhan memberkatimu. Belajar rajin-rajin.”
“Hanya itu?”, pantas bicara terpacul dari mulutku. Sahabatku mengiyakan..
Sedikit hampa, tetapi lega. Sekurang-kurangnya “the unread message” itu telah ku ungkai satu persatu. Alhamdulillah..akhirnya aku berjaya juga menyiapkan segala tugasan. Kemudian aku berbaring merehatkan diri…
Wallahu’alam..

p/s: selalu rasa nak spend lebih masa baca tafsir.. hmm.. makin insaf ni..
duduk kat negara orang, yang tak ramai orang islam ni, selalu kene tanya macam2 pasal islam.. kenapa kene pakai tudung? , kenapa kene puasa? , kenapa kene pakai baju lengan panjang selalu?, kenapa itu .. kenapa ini.. derang selalu mintak jawapan yg rasional.. pernah sorang kawan tanya, ada tak scientific evidence pasal puasa ramadhan.. apa kebaikan dia..? dia tanya baik je.. sekadar ingin tahu, tapi azah sendiri tak tau nak jawab, ada ke tidak..
kita di Malaysia ni dididik supaya terima bulat2 ajaran islam kita tanpa fikirkan apa sebenarnya rasional n hikmah di sebalik semua tu.. kalau kita jawab.. its simply faith,.. kita akan dilihat sebagai bangsa yg mengikut tanpa tau sebab.. tak berapa manis di pandangan mereka..
so, ambillah peluang yang ada, fahamkan ajaran2 islam kita.. kenapa itu, kenapa ini.. barula kita boleh stand for out religion n be proud of it depan org2 bukan islam yg bukan dari negara islam ni.. duduk kat msia senang, semua dah ready.. semua dah ada.. kedai halal dah ada kat mana2.. barang2 makanan yg dijual siap ada tanda halal.. tak payah baca ingredient susah2.. rules n regulation semua dah terbentuk cara islam, semua orang faham tentang islam, ada surau merata2 , nak solat pun senang.. siap ada tempat wudhuk sekali.. pendek kata, environment n keadaan menyebelahi kita n agama kita.. kadang2 sampai kita leka n ambil mudah dgn apa yg ada di negara kita sendiri.. tak appreciate kemudahan n suasana yg ada utk kita apply islam dlm hidup kita. .  lain dari duduk di negara org bukan islam ni.. kawan2 yg duduk overseas mesti faham, kan?
islam itu perfect n indah, cuma kita belum faham sepenuhnya bagaimana indahnya ia..

QURANIC VERSES RELATING ZIKR

Pic054471. ‘Therefore remember Me, I will remember you. Give thanks to Me and reject not Me.’

2. Remember thy Lord much, and praise Him in Pic11538the early hours of night and morning.

3. (Talking of the wise men these are) such as remember Allah, standing, sitting, and reclining, and consider the creation of the Heavens and the Earth, and say, (after deliberation) “Our Lord! Thou has not created this in vain. Glory be to Thee! Preserve us from the doom of Fire.”

Pic14771_1 4. When ye have performed the act of Salaat, remember Allah, standing, sitting and reclining (We should remember him in all circumstances)

5. Send not away those who call their Lord at morning and evening, seeking His countenance (Pleasure)Pic17035_1

6. And call upon Him, making your devotion purely for Him (only)

Pic18716 7. And do thou remember thy Lord within thyself humbly and with awe, below thy breath, at morn and evening. And be thou not of the neglectful.

8. And guideth unto Himself all who turn to Him in penitence; who have believed and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah. Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts rest content!

9. Lo! I, even I, am Allah. There is no God save Me. So serve mePic19718  and establish Salaat for My remembrance. Lo! The Hour is surely coming. But I will keep it hidden, that every soul may be rewarded for that which it striven to achieve.

Pic19895 10. (While talking to the unbeliever on the Day of Judgement, they will be asked whether they remember). Lo! There was a party of My servants who said, “Our Lord! We believe therefore forgive us and have mercy on us, for Thou art best of all who show mercy.”

11. But verily, remembrance of Allah is the most important.Pic21726

12. (Those) who forsake their beds to call upon their Lord in fear and hope, and spend of what We have bestowed on them. No soul knoweth what joy is kept hidden for them as a reward for what they used to do.
Pic23811 Note: it is mentioned in a hadith that one who prays to Allah in the last portion of the night gains acceptance of Allah. If possible, you should remember Allah at this hour.

13. Verily in the messenger of Allah ye have a good example for Pic25667 him who looketh unto Allah and the Last Day and remembreth Allah much.

14. (while talking of the virtues of the believers) And men who remember Allah much and women who remember; Allah hath prepared for them His forgiveness and a vast reward.

Pic28703 15. O ye who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance. And glorify Him morning and evening.

16. Then woe unto those whose hearts are hardened against remembrance of Allah. Such are clearly in error

17. Allah hath (now) revealed the most beautiful message of thePic31322  Qu’ran, a Scripture consistent with itself, repeating (its teaching in various aspects). Whereat doth tremble the skins of those who fear their Lord, so that their flesh and their hearts soften to Allah’s remembrance. Such is Allah’s guidance, wherewith be guideth whom He will.

18. And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade.

19. O ye who believe! Let not your wealth nor your children distract you from remembrance of Allah. Those who do so, they are the losers. (These things will not last beyond the grave and Allah’s remembrance will prove useful in the Hereafter.)
